The Science Council of the company ASEA provides strategic leadership and orientation for all research and science programs. It plays a critical role in guiding and prioritizing global investments to sustainably strengthen ASEA’s scientific leadership.
The Council is comprised of internationally recognized experts in redox science, nutrition, and skin care. As advocates for the company, they use their expertise to promote the science-based development of ASEA products and support the global mission of ASEA:
Brooke Alpert
M.S. (Master of Science), R.D. (Registered Dietitian), C.D.N. (Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist)
Brooke Alpert is a nationally recognized nutrition expert and bestselling author. She holds a Master of Science from New York University (NYU) and completed her clinical training at the renowned Mt. Sinai Hospital. As a sought-after expert, she appears regularly on US television programs such as the Doctor Oz Show and the Today Show. W Magazine named her an “up-and-coming star” in the field of beauty and health.
Ann Louise Gittleman
Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy / Holistic Nutrition), C.N.S. (Certified Nutrition Specialist)
Ann Louise Gittleman is globally recognized as a pioneer of integrative medicine. She holds a master’s degree from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in holistic nutrition. As the former Director of Nutrition at the Pritikin Longevity Center and Chief Nutritionist at Bellevue Hospital, she has received numerous awards. She is a multiple New York Times bestselling author and one of the most influential voices in modern nutritional science.
Dr. Mojgan Moddaresi
PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy), Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy / Cosmetic Science), FRSB (Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology)
Dr. Moddaresi is the managing director of Personal Care Regulatory Ltd. and has over 20 years of experience in the cosmetic and biopharma industries. As a Ph.D. in cosmetic science and a licensed pharmacist, she is a member of the British Toxicology Society. Her research focuses on the use of nanotechnology to increase the efficacy of natural ingredients in skin care.
Dr. Steven Ross Murray

Dr. Murray is a Professor of Teaching in the College of Letters and Science at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a recognized expert in kinesiology, wellness, and fitness. In addition to his academic career with over 150 journal articles, he is a passionate athlete and finisher of the IRONMAN® World Championship in Hawaii. His work combines scientific theory with practical peak athletic performance.
Charareh Pourzand
DSc (Doctor of Science), FRSB (Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology)
Charareh Pourzand is an internationally recognized scientist who has led research at the University of Bath (UK) for over two decades. She is a multidisciplinary researcher with unique expertise in oxidative stress, iron metabolism, and skin redox homeostasis. Her discoveries regarding skin photoaging have led to numerous patents and collaborations with world-leading cosmetic corporations.
